How do HVAC systems control humidity?

Your HVAC system is actually designed to pull moisture out of the air. When your air is pulled across the coil in your system it will catch moisture according to your thermostats humidity setting. During the summer months typically, you will be pulling more moisture out of the air. Conversely during the winter months, you would want more humidity to combat the dry air from the furnace.
