Can your HVAC system overheat?

Your HVAC system will not overheat. Different manufacturers have different safety settings, and every unit has many safety devices to ensure overheating does not occur. Typically, around 130-150 degrees in your furnace would trigger an automatic shut off of the unit. Overheating usually occurs due to an issue elsewhere in the system.
